ANSI – Standards Development

The Automotive Lift Institute, Inc. (ALI) is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an Accredited Standards Developer (ASD). It is the policy of ALI to comply with the guidance offered in the “ANSI Essential Requirements: Due Process Requirements for American National Standards”. These requirements apply to activities related to the development of consensus for approval, revision, reaffirmation, and withdrawal of American National Standards (ANS). The latest edition of these requirements can be found at the ANSI Public Documents Library.

 

In the Institute’s role as an Accredited Standards Developer, the Automotive Lift Institute is charged with overseeing the standards development related activities of three American National Standards. The following is a list of those standards accompanied by a current summary of their development cycle status.

ANSI/ALI ALCTV:2017

This standard covers the safety requirements for the construction, testing, and validation of automotive lifts
